I love the idea, I wish it was big enough for the flats of 30 from Costco!

Thanks! I'll have to work on that!

hi great thing you made, du you have the file as one STL ? i have i 500x500 mm printer... want to try to make it en one peace :-)

Hi, that is one huge printer! try out ef1.stl, and try printing it with its base on the plate. I would expect the trickiest part of the print would be the part where the top rack hovers above the lower track, and you'd have to use support everywhere. Otherwise printing on the side might be an option.

What infill did you use/recommend?

Nothing too much. I believe I used 15% and it worked out fine. Happy printing!

Wonderful creativity and makes me want to eat more eggs. How well does it work when you get down to the last few eggs?

Actually I find it works best on the last few eggs. When there's an issues it normally happens just after the first bend where it doesn't have quite a steep enough angle to make sure the eggs are rolling, regardless of orientation. Once the eggs go around the bend, I haven't had any issues that aren't resolved by poking the last egg with your finger.

So, this has the added benefit of keeping your eggs in chronological order, as well. Our chickens give us 6-8 eggs a day and I'm tired of rotating cartons. Something like this would insure I'm using the oldest ones, first.

Very good point! Thanks, and hope it helps!

Are the parts oriented for best print? Would be nice not to sit here and try to figure that all out with each file. I imagine it's important to avoid supports in the smooth area for eggs to roll (not interested in tons of sanding)

They're not as of yet. I'll get some pictures tonight of proper buildplate configurations for the main version. There's gluing obviously, but I didn't have to sand anything to get the eggs to roll. Thanks!

Edit: Updated with pictures!

might be beter if fully enclosed to protect eggs and put sruff on top of it. and patent it.

Thanks! Great idea for my next rev.
