Remixed this great flexible-filament-compatible bowden extruder so it takes less post-processing and vitamins to mount on my flsun kossel. (Remixed from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2599755)
Assembly on a flsun Kossel requires only one purchased item:
- 1x MK7 extruder drive gear. (You will need to calibrate extruder steps-per-mm after the change)
And one post-processing step:
- Clean the filament path with a drill (5/64" or around 1.9mm)
Changes made in the remix
- Pre-drilled for an M4 pneumatic fitting (the bowden tube connector).
- Removed two unnecessary overhangs.
This works a lot better if you place a strong spring under the wing nut in my photo. That allows the extruder the keep proper tension even if the filament diameter changes a little.
This will receive a little heat from the stepper motor - printing in ABS may be more sturdy than PLA.
I enlarged ~1% before printing to account for ABS shrinkage.
Drill out the filament path with a bit slightly larger than your filament. I use a 5/64" bit which is ~1.9mm.
