Hey, awesome design!

Could you upload a version of the holder for a 4mm tube? I have troubles modifying your STL...
Thanks!

Hey gromain

Sorry. A 4mm hose version is currently not planned due to time constraints. please modify the STL

MFG Chris

Would you mind sharing the source file to make a clean remix?

Yes

Here, the file is attached.

MFG Chris

Thanks a lot!

I finally managed to do it in Openscad. I'll post the remix later today, it's currently printing!
Thanks again!

I just had to comment... the second holder... wow I'm in love... That is a thing of beauty right there and saved me for having to make something similar that would have looked terrible and nothing like that! lol thanks!

Any specific type of screws? I see the length but nothing else about it. Im afraid of splitting the model.

Hey

is written in the description ;-)
screws 3,5x16
screws 3,5x50

Chris

Im sorry for the miscommunication. For one, forgot 3,5 = to 3.5 for me. That was my fault for misreading. But what I meant was what type of screws such as Wood Screws, Machine Screws, Sheetrock, ect.

Hey

definitely wood screws. PLA / ABS is easy to screw together with wood screws.

Chris

The front clamping block seems to be corrupted. Anyway you could re-upload it?

hey supernate91

i regenerated the front block in the drawing, re-exported it and uploaded it as V2.1...

MFG Chris

Thanks! This is an awesome design. Cant wait to implement it with my enclosure!

Interesting. Downloading the front clamping part individually worked. But downloading the entire bundle is comes corrupted

I'm new to printing and don't use use a lot of filament and have to keep my printer in my garage in a high humidity area, so something like this is perfect for me. I was thinking of trying to make it more modular so it could include more than 6 colors, like 1 color per box so you could have as many boxes as you like.

I am curious if you use anything to keep the box dry though? Like rice, or those silicon ball packets? Damp Rid(the stuff for closets I think)? Seems like some humidity would make its way in the tubing or imperfect seals, so keeping something to absorb moisture would make it work better than not. If you do use something, what is it?

Very cool project though either way, definitely on my todo list.

hey jason510

sorry for my late answer.
I use regenerable Silicagel bags.

With the tubing or the connectors, I don't think that much moisture gets in. But of course it depends on the surroundings. My printer is in a rather dry cellar.

MFG Chris

hi jason510
I use silica gel bags in the box to keep the humidity as low as possible.
Of course you can choose another ( smaller) box. You just have to check if the filament cassette fits if you want to use it.

MFG Chris

what size container did you use to hold the spools. thanks

the box I use didn't really fit. I had to cut off parts of the lid and close it with a straight plate and silicone.

Do you have a link to the 6mm tubing? Im assuming 6mm is the outer diameter. Whats the inner diameter?

Inner diameter is 4mm.

Thanks for sharing. Tubing is 6mm - correct?

Yes... 6mm
forgot to write above... I'll add it...
