Do you think these would work on a CR-10 s5?

Hello! If the ratio between the two sides of the triangle is the same as the classic CR10-S, the supports are fine. Of course the bars will have to be longer.

will this really work for the mini? Wouldn't the angle for mounting the threaded rod be different since the Z hight is only 300 on the mini?

I don't have a Mini, but someone said that the relationship between the base and the height is the same as the CR-10. So in theory they should be fine.

Hello! If you have found benefit, why not? Anything that increases stability without weighing down the moving parts is always welcome.
If you have the hotend stock it may be fine, but if you mount the fang like the one I have I lose in height. It is also true that it is difficult to print up to 400 mm. in height. In this case, just set the firmware to let it recognize a machine with lower Z.

Hey champ! Great and simple design! ive printed the upper brackets but im having trouble getting them into the rail slot....i can understand that they are a snug fit to stay rigid...should i maybe detach that upper rail and knock the brackets in with a rubber mallet ( with caution) ?

Yes, they are very precise. It is important that your printer is adjusted well so that the print of the pieces is as accurate as possible. I can tell you that I have not dismantled the profile but for a piece I had to use a small rubber hammer and slowly entered. There was some blobs that I first smoothed. Result: all very solid.

Do you think it can be done with PLA with a greater infill?

Yes of course! I used PET-G because I usually print this material but nobody forbids doing it with PLA.

Printed and all parts except the 60mm 5m screws were easy to find. Waiting on Amazon delivery. Will post a make when I put together.

Do you have the design files? I'd like to change it for the 10mm threaded rod I have (9.5mm diameter)

Bel update che stò cercando di stampare ma ho grossi priblemi di ritrazione del materiale sia in PETG che in PLA .
Difatti ormai al quarto tentativo ho rinunciato, le ho provate tutte : oltre che i due diversi materiali anche a diminuire la velocità, ad usare prima un brim da 8mm poi un raft.. ma il risultato non cambia .. i due supporti si ritirano da un lato ed infine si staccano dal piatto prima di completare la stampa. (vedi foto)

Ciao. E' molto strano anche perchè è una stampa molto molto semplice da eseguire. Attualmente io sto usando questi paramentri con il PET-G (che è il materiale che prediligo):
temperatura hotend 237 °C
piatto a 60 °C con lacca Splendor extra forte
ventola a 50%
retrazione filamento 8 mm. a 85 mm/sec.
z hop 0,4 mm.

Sì, l'ho fatto più distanziato in modo da non perdere nulla in altezza. Se scorri le foto puoi vedere come, con la mia configurazione piuttosto ingombrante, riesca ugualmente ad arrivare a X=0 e Z=400.
