I can't figure out the naming of the files. Part 3 of 4, 3 of 6 where is 1 of 4 and so on?
1 of 4
2 of 4
3 of 4
4 of 4

This makes sense.

Part 1??? 1 of what? Part 2?

I went ahead and used Meshmixer to split the stand. I included files in case anyone wants them. You don't really need it split to print but I wanted the orientation different when I was printing it. Thanks for the great model! Fantastic detail.

Does it really print to 225mm? Based on the parts I've printed so far, I'd say it's scaled to DOUBLE that! Wish I'd known before I started printing...

I'm not sure. The one that's 225mm in the image might be the sliced version assembled. I can't remember its been too long. the unsliced version is 400+mm I believe.

Model coming out great BUT having a problem with part 6 of 6. When I try to print with supports, it fails...either the supports collapse, or when I put the supports at 100% infill, then one side of the engine supports collapses. Is this supposed to be done without supports? Or should the part be placed horizontally on the bed? Any help appreciated!

What type of glue should be used for the parts? I made it using PLA.

Regular superglue works great on pla

Thank you for the files. My Orville is ready, just need minor touches and paint.
Thanks

This is great. I'm still printing it using a resin printer. Let me share you an advance. Work in progress!
Thank you

Very beautiful! The detail in this model really does demand a nice resin print. It's why I never tried printing it myself.

How does this stand work? I printed the unslided model at 120% and the stand at 120%, but there seems to be a missing part.

Sorry. I updated the original unsliced model to add a slot for the stand.

Jaime Clay did a hollow version of this, and can't release it without your permission..could you reply to his pm? I'd like to print one and add lights.

Are you sure that this is necessary? I think under the creative commons licensing, it is fine as long as he gives the original source and doesn't claim it as his own. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, however.

I'll rephrase my comment. He doesn't want to release it without the original artists approval. Since that was never given, well probably never see it released.

I have him permission in his message to me.

Awesome! Now I need to message him on Facebook to get him to release it.

I'm really wondering how the stand is intended to attach to the model. I believe I'll attempt to use some rare earth magnets which is going to be a pain drilling holes for lining them up properly.

Awesome model none the less.

hi, is the full version orville unslicer suitable to stay on the support?
in case it is suitable that scale should be used?
I would have printed the version in pieces but there are no grafts and paste them becomes a problem for me.
thank you
