Hey how is the 3b or the pi zero connected to the i3 mini? I haven't seen a way yet.

Any chance you can make one for a Pi 3 for this printer? The Zero is really slow :( Great design though! Really compact!

Raspberry Pi 3B mount for Wanhao Duplicator i3 Mini / Cocoon Create Model Maker

I've had a Pi-0w hooked up to my mini for 2 weeks now, no issues at all. I just use it as a print server and no webcam. Also keep plugins to a minimum.

From OctoPrint:
"Please note that the Raspberry Pi Zero W is not recommended since severe performance issues were observed, caused by the WiFi interface when bandwidth is utilized (e.g. the webcam is streamed), negatively impacting printing results."

Found this after I purchased the Zero haha, but looks like without a webcam it should run fine?

PS Keep up the excellent work mpfl!

Yeah, she's got a surprisingly amount of dislike for the Zero, but I've been running mine on the i3 Mini for several weeks with 20+ prints and not a single issue. I don't run plugins nor a webcam and just use it as a wireless print server because I hate dealing with the SD card swap. Not a single complaint from me. With this nice case and the filament guide printed I have no complaints at all it's a slick setup with everything tucked neatly away, compared to my CR-10s with parts and cables all sprawling all over the workbench it's on and a ton of issues I've had with that printer and Octoprint that are traced down to a bug in 1.3.8. I've had to go to card printing on that unit until it's resolved.

I found that it works just fine without a webcam, even with a couple of plugins.

I recently swapped the Pi Zero W for a 3B and found no major change in performance. I'm even tempted to go back to using the Zero as I don't use a webcam and I'm an electricty miser.

Yeah. It works but I am used to the 3. It's just much slower by comparison.

I have one printer on a ZeroW and another on a 3B. I do notice that the 3B is much snappier when uploading and connecting to the printer.

It's on the to-do list. I've designed a Pi3 case for a different printer, so it should be trivial to mash the two together.
