Hi, looks great. can you tell me the power needed for the laser?

I'm using a 500mW laser, but I think it could work with lower power ratio as well, if you reduce speed. It's still a hit and miss depending the coating of the bottle caps. Usually I do several test runs with different power settings to decided what looks best. Be aware of that silver bottle caps don't work at all.

about to bottle my first batch... I may wait a couple days and try out your jig!! Great Idea! Cheers!

update: I printed it out - working on details... looks like 1" circle for the graphic and they are 1.3" from center to center.
I'm new with the k40 laser but will try to get it consistent!

Thanks :-) I don't use Coreldraw so I'm not able to open your file. If you use the included STL files, the graphic has to be 33x33mm multiplied by columns and rows. However, the software of my Fabtotum ignores the size of the graphic – instead I have to state the dimensions of the graphic within the software. The "usable" area of the design is about 23x23mm. Let me know if I could be of further help.

I have made three batches of lasered caps now... thanks! it's still hit or miss on accuracy with the k40 laser and the software running it, but it's better than nothing! You should post this to the Home-brewing group for others to find. thanks again.

Thanks for the advice. Just joined the group and added my things. Great to hear it's working for you. Was thinking of get a k40 myself ...

Interesting! What kind of a laser are you using to mark the caps?

It's a Fabtotum 3d printer with laser head (https://www.fabtotum.com). However, any laser machine will do.
