Writing to confirm that the design functions very well for the dw611!

@DirtMerchant,

How has your experience been with the 611 on the MPCNC? I am curious about the extra weight and how that has affected the quality of your cuts. I have my 611 still sitting in the box and wondering if I should take it back or switch out my 660 for it

I never actually used a 611 or 660 on the 525 version of the MPCNC, I just went straight to the Makita. The Makita specs as 3.9lbs vs the Dewalt's 4.6lbs, but I'm sure those numbers are with the base, so not sure what they would be "naked". The performance has been absolutely stellar, variable RPM and it won't slow down under load with the built in RPM control.There is a fairly recent discussion in this thread about Makita vs 660 vs spindle if you haven't seen it. https://www.v1engineering.com/forum/topic/discussion-of-spindle-options-comparing-makita-rt0701c-dw660-and-500w-dc/
Also, I modified a collet extension for use with the Makita that I documented in this thread as well: https://www.v1engineering.com/forum/topic/added-er11-chuck-to-my-makita-rt0701c/#post-53879
Bottom line, I don't think you would be disappointed with going with the larger router. You can use larger bits and do deeper passes or larger steps without having bit flex.
