I'm trying to create my own non-lego parts, and I wanted to examine how legos fit together to understand sizes... So I downloaded your part, and put it into Autodesk Inventor to get an idea of the sizes, and I get weird numbers. When I measured my own lego part, I get ~5 mm for the wide top, but when I measure your model, I get either 12.xx mm or .49 in...

Thanks for that, i am waiting for my printer to be delivered. I would like to see more mindstorms items that are quality like this one. It will let me build so many new things!

Thanks for the comment! It would really be great if you tried printing one of these. I tried to, and got ok results. What kind of printer are you using? I might try to modify the design to make it more stable and printable if you aren't able to print it.

did it print well? can you upload some samples?

I have not tested it yet (mentioned in the instructions), but I will as soon as I get my thingomatic up and running. This will sort of serve as a test to its accuracy

Nice work, I like it!

But instead of spending hours of hacking in OSCAD source,

take a look at LeoCAD: http://www.leocad.orghttp://www.leocad.org

Although it "only" supports .3ds and .obj (Wavefront)

exports, all the blocks are in there.

Example output:

Thats really cool, maybe I should have searched for something first. But I will still try to make and upload more models for the sake of learning OpenSCAD. ;)
