I'm a noob with rc planes, so forgive me if the question is silly: it's possible to take off and land without a steering wheel or a rudder? Don't you need to act somehow to maintain the desired direction?

Hi, I designed the front wheel for taking off in a straight line. The filament used PLA/ABS is not grippy on tarmac so planes can still be steered slightly to aim in a general direction.
You are right, tight taxiing on planes would be impossible with this front wheel on.

But did you add a rudder servo and/or a dual motor configuration? Without any rudder surface or differential thrust i don't get how you can have any authority on the yaw. Beside tight taxi turn, with the standard nano skyhunter configuration, there's no way to make the plane turn left or right at all. Or... Are you using the roll stick to unbalance the pression on the rear wheels, and more pression lead to more friction and then a turning force??

The design is a simple one for taking off and landing. I never needed the plane to turn on the ground.
