Hi 7Fish, thank you for sharing this model. I'm currently looking at the individual parts. Did you include supports for printing in the files? If so, why not let the slicer do that? Also, do you have a photo of the printed Atlas?

It has, included supports except Torso’s.

I were built and used those kind of support because mostly i find it more convenient to use, at least to me. I am honestly don’t trust automatic supports, slicer was often to miss something downward pointy must be supported properly and sometime, even use of automatic supports ruin entire print with cracks throughout parts somehow.

I only half way test it myself so i have no photos for it. But i did upload make of Atlas in past. It’s shared in Shifty’s atlas post. Although it not exactly same mod as this.

Am I right to assume that the Mech can move its arms and legs freely? The main issue I have with many of the larger Mechs here on Thingiverse is that they require the amrs and legs to be glued to the torso.

it moved with certain rotation range. This Atlas and my Timberwolf are don't use glue at arm and legs as it all supposed to be snap fited in place. but if print with larger scale like 200% then it possible that parts weight surpass joint's weight tolerance.

My printer has a printable size of 120x120x120mm. Not sure how large I can make the Atlas. I'd say, the larger the better. At what size percentage did you print your Atlas. I know it came out 140mm in total, but how much was that in percent?

that 140mm was original 100% size that come out from articulation works. also same size as the make that you linked. even it still take at least one day or more to print all parts, though.

I don't mind that. My last print was a Cylon Raider from Battlestar Galactica. With 80 percent print speed and enlarged to barely fit my print bed, it took the better part of 53 hours. I made a photo just to believe that myself. ;-)

Anyway, I just checked, and the torso alone, in a layer height of 0.175mm and a scale of 150 percent, has an estimated print time of 1 day and 13 hours with adaptive layer height (Cura 3.2 beta). With a fixed layer height of 0.175mm it's still 18 hours. But I think that's worth it: The larger Atlas would be around 21 cm.

Also, with the supports you already integrated, the parts look great in Cura. I will post a picture of the finished Mech when I'm done!

but i really uncertain how my joints react such larger size, the Ankel alone barely fited in soket with force in original size, i am afraid that it can happend that can not assembled or broken off ball's neck. i am unsure.

What would you say are the most problematic parts that are most likely to have issues? I would print them first and test how well they work. If it's an ankle, that would cost me less than an hour tops, and if it doesn't work, not much damage would be done.

Most i afraid point is the Ankle, then Elbow and knee at last, you shall have to make either side of Leg and Arm First before proceed to pelvis and Torso.
