This is the cover for the creation of an IRBlaster with a wemos D1 Mini (an ESP-8266 based board) based on the fantastic library IRremoteESP8266 (https://github.com/markszabo/IRremoteESP8266). The amazing thing about this project is that it will make you control everything that is IR-controllable using WiFI from another room and, if you are quite experienced and know how to open Router's ports, from every part of the world. With this IRBlaster you can also control your devices using MQTT and make them part of your IoT world.
IMPORTANT!: I'm a newbie with CAD, so there could be imperfections. The holes for the leds on the top and the space for the Wemos in the bottom part are very strict because I didn't want to use glue to fix leds and the board so you have to press a lot to insert leds and Wemos. In "Thing Files" you can also find the .step CAD file I made with Fusion 360, feel free to modify it!
The steps to make the IRBlaster are very simple and require only a little bit experience with soldering iron and Arduino to program the board. To make it simpler, I made here (https://imgur.com/a/ZkcW5) a photo guide including the schematic of the wiring.
Use supports as suggested. Set it to "Everywhere".
BILL OF MATERIALS
-Soldering flux (not essential but i suggest it)
-4 NPN transistors (I used the popular PN2222)
-4 IR leds (I used the model IR333-A, very powerful)
-1 Wemos D1 mini R2 (works with both rev 2.3 or 3.0)
-Wire (I used a 25AWG one)
-Glue to stick top to bottom
