Any updates on the other rounded USB C cables you've ordered?

Sorry for the late reply.
Unfortunately a universal holder for the type-C connectors doesn't seem possible at this time. The round barrel and the end cap are not all standard sizes. I was hoping the cheap Chinese cables were all the same parts just re branded but sadly that is not that case. With each one of the same cables I ordered all being different, they will all need come custom modeling done to them. Did you happen to order on of the cables that I have listed? If you have I can ensure you do have a part that will work for you. If you have a different one, I am not sure without some detailed measurements from you if we can get that working

Would you be willing to make one for a MK6? I've been trying for a month now with no luck. I can add my file so you can see what I'm doing.

If you are willing to work with me, I am more than happy to collaborat on a design with you.
So far that has been my biggest issue with people asking for help / other features.
I don't have a MK6, but send me a PM and I am sure we can get something working.

Thanks so much for the idea. Love it! Do you have any suggestions for cables for an iPhone?

Maybe...
I sent weborican a stl to test out....
I would ask weborican (scroll down and see the name) to share the link to the cable.

If you are willing to buy a cable and do some testing PM me, you will also require calipers.

Is there anyone to make it all objects into 1 stl file? I want to print it at my library and they only allow 1 file submission at a time. Thanks!

You can import them into your fav CAD program and save them as a single file.
Fusion360 is free for personal use, or you can load tinkercad up in a browser.

If the base plate loads on an angle, 14.3 Degrees is what you are going to want to rotate it to make it sit flat

I am hesitant to upload all files in a single STL as that will make printing it a chore as you will no longer be able to move the parts around individually to best suit your printer.

How much does your library charge? Guys have been getting them printed for $35 CAD from 3Dhubs.com

However, if the library is your only option I will help you out. Let me know as that is a quick request to fill.

Realized this weekend that the main body of the dock is too big for my MP Select Mini to print :-(

Is there a way to slice it into two different pieces that can later be snapped or glued together? The MP Select Mini build size is: 120120120mm (4.7“ x 4.7” x 4.7“)

Thanks!

I'll have some time to look at it this weekend to see if I can find an easy solution....
However, can you print ABS or PETG.
This part is not ment for PLA as it will melt and defrom in the summer heat in your car

So.... success, or failure, in finding a possible way to print it on an MP Select Mini?

Thanks for looking into it!

Trimming 30+ mm from the model will be a challenge.
I have an idea on how to go about it, it would involve pretty much cutting the model in half and using a sort of dovetail to connect it back together.

How well that would work, not 100% certain, but its my best idea right now.
2nd problem is time to model that, free time is a little hard to come by for me right now... But I would like a chance to solve that problem

That would be awesome, thanks!

Yes, bought a spool of ABS specifically for this project, and spent some time last weekend figuring out ABS printing. What a pain in the neck that is! I still need to tweak some things (I just adjusted the temps, but nothing else), but I will start by printing the bumpers since those are smaller than the dock. I already tried printing one, but the print broke loose from the printing plate. I may have to applying something to the plate for better adhesion.

Nice idea. Would there be room to put a QI charger in there?

I guess, but I don't see the point.
Its plugged into USB and is powered from the USB Port. AA requires the USB connection to work.
