Finished my R2 last night. All parts and Alexa fit perfect.

What are the size of each component for print? I am trying to see if my printer is big enough.

Why is the head tilted? Why not print it flat?

I am guessing that is due to the way the model was split, the parts are in the angle they should be assembled (the body is at an angle as well, and can be printed flat).

Can I echo Kulps query as to whether it will fit the new Echo Plus?

Will this fit the Echo Plus 2nd Gen?

What about integrating some cord management into the base? Something to store extra cord in the base but not be able to see it.

Very cool! :) Are you able to tell how much the top casing will limit Echo's ability to listen to the voice commands?

No, sorry I do not have any data, but it doesn't seem to affect it much. The holes in the top are fairly large to ensure the best acoustics possible, whilst still looking like an R2D2. Hope the above is helpful.

I haven't noticed it affecting it at all really

I like it! While I don't see myself using an echo any time soon, I still love seeing things like this.

Does it fit also with the „old“ big Echo ?

anyone else having problems with the head and body, ?
on my CR10, that prints virtually anything perfect, has done the feet and legs, in .1 quality, and amazing btw.
but trying the head and body, and has to have supports, just comes off the bed , or the supports are in a position that's tough to get started.

So anyone had a successful print let me know your orientation especially and support type, percentage, basically any information.
this is a great model, really want this to work, but struggling.

ive just started my fourth attempt on the body, at .2, just dont think it can hadnle the first layers of supports at .1
ill keep you guys posted with pics later.

thanks guys.

Just had the same thing happen to me with the head was so looking forward to this too dont want to try anymore and im not sure yet how I add in supports

It worked in the end mate, it was that long now I can’t remember exactly if I used supports...
to do it, just use Cura, and click supports, "bed only"

I’m just printing a BB8 right now for my google home...going well.

Do yoi have thid build in sections? My printer bed is too small foe the whole thing

I guess so. It is a bit big. I am working away from home at the moment and should be back at the weekend. I will take a look then. I will put it on as a R2D2 v3.0 when it is done.

very much appreciated :)

Job done. The files are now on.
I've not tested it as I haven't currently got a printer.
Let me know if there are any problems.
....its a good droid
