One more split to the model would make this a lot prettier on printing. Printing the Falcon part on its own requires a lot of support material, and the quality of the bottom of the Falcon suffers as a result. If you split the Falcon at mid-plane, we could print the top-half of the falcon, then the bottom half of the falcon upside down, and join the two parts. The seam wouldn't really be a problem. Then print the base and glue all three together.

Nice work, it looks great! Adds some fun to the lab.

Is the default orientation the best one? Obviously it will require supports no matter how you position it. Perhaps, if it's not too much work, you could separate it in to 3 different files? Base, pillars and the falcon?

Good suggestion, the model did require a large amount support material. I split the model in half so it can be printed in two sections to reduce the amount of required support material.
