I am having a hard time getting the wood to print. The top always gets messed up. I tried all 3 and have had no luck. I've tried other small things, including everything else, and this is the only piece I cannot get. Any advice?

Did you try the other wood files, there is a woodbestRepSimple…?

Sure ..I will upload one today

Any chance you would be willing to remove the iron logo from the iron bar?

I added a Gold, Silver and blank bar... I just changed the words, nothing else so if you wanted it to be different material I assume you could resize them and print or paint in different colors.

Sure ..I will upload one today

any chance you'd be willing/able to make the grain and pumpkins multi-material compatible? thanks!

To be honest I am not experienced enough with separating the elements in the files to multi color print, Let me look into it but maybe there is someone else on this forum who could do it quite easily?

I just found a setting in Cura which dramatically reduces the print time for the wood pieces. Its called "Remove All Holes" under "Mesh Fixes". It does remove the nice growth ring effect but I rather print 5 of them in an hour than 6h+. So just to let everyone know thats interested.

Amazing models, thanks for that. Was looking all over for realistic tokens like this!

OK, just looking at it again I see the log has an inner and outer dimension... I will try to make the inner as a total solid and see if the slicing will treat it as just an outer shell rather than an outer and inner, Will let you know when they are reposted, thanks for the suggestion.

I think the way you accomplish the growth rings in the logs is clever, but it makes them take 4 times longer to print than everything else. Maybe include a version that only draws the rings in the first few and last few layers?

I had a good look and did some tests... I found out it is not the core at all, that's still rendered a fine solid, I did find that the poly count was very high so I simplified the piece from 42K down to 16K... because it is such a small piece I don't think it will effect the appearance of it at all after printing. I think it is just going to print slow, even though it is simplified... there are thousands of lines in the outer shells for the bark texture, in fact I don't think there is a straight line anywhere in the log...if you print with anymore than 10% infill or more than 2 perimeters it will take a while. Or you could as crazy as it seems print it with a solid 100% infill and it would probably print faster as it is not duplicating the very fine detail of the outer perimeter for the inner as well...this would be a heavy piece but of course use more filament. You could simplify it probably another 50% and not lose much detail, but I would rather it take a bit longer and be sure of a very detailed piece. Attached and posted is the simplified part for you to see. Hope this helps.
