I'm trying to print the left side (long) mount and the slicer keeps inverting part of the print. I've tried Cura 4.2.1, 3.6 as well as Slic3r and they all keep slicing it this way. The short version slices fine.

Any ideas?

I do not know why S3D slices them like this. I used Cura and they came out fine.

The parts were designed in Sketchup. Not the best choice but that's what I had experience with. Anyway, I just uploaded the sketchup files. I do not know if you can use them in Fusion.

HI. I am building an anet am8 and I would like to use your 2020 x-asis conversation. I am using S3D slicer and I have difficulty to print it as the objects are not a solid construction. what could cause that? I try to import STL file to Fusion360 and try if I can fix it but even then it did not help out. by any chance could you try to make them as solid or maybe you could share original files before you make them as STL.

You need a GT2 20-tooth idler wheel to go into the belt tensioner. You can get these with a 3mm or a 5mm internal hole. I have made versions for the belt tensioner for both options.

This looks really good but are are there any other parts that need to purchased other than the 2020 extrusion to complete this upgrade?

If you want to use two bearings on each side (like the original A8) print:
X-Carriage-Left-w-Motor-Mount-Endstop-Long
X-Carriage-Right-w-Belt-Tensioner-Long

If you want to use one bearing on each side, print the other X-carriage parts:
X-Carriage-Left-w-Motor-Mount-Endstop
X-Carriage-Right-w-Belt-Tensioner

Finally, if your belt idler wheel has a 3mm axle, use X-Belt-Tensioner-3mm. If it has a 5mm axle, use X-Belt-Tensioner-5mm.

The E3D mount I used is my remix of a couple of designs I liked: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2791211

E3D-V6 Bowden Carriage Mount for 2020 V-slot X-Axis

which carriage and e3d mount did you use? im switching to this setup because my x rods are bent. thanks and what other additional parts do i need? thanks

Which parts from the source that you remixed are also required to complete this build? I'm not worried about the X carriage itself, but other parts of the tensioner and anything else needed for the gantry. I'm a little overwhelmed by the number of files in the source. Thanks!

Well, after a little searching and staring at pictures, I think I managed to understand the concept of how this fits together. If I do understand it correctly, I don't actually need any other parts for the tensioner as long as my idler pulley fits within the part well. I'm really excited to try it out!

Sorry for the delay. You are correct. You don't need any other parts.

Looks like a great design, and I'm interested in the shorter length. I'm planning an AM8 conversion and my printer needs to stay inside an IKEA Lack enclosure. Do you happen to have a measurement of the total width of your gantry?

The total Gantry width is 520-530mm. It fits inside an IKEA Stuva cabinet (that is a bit narrower than a Lack table) with around 40mm clearance.

Thank you
