The extruder gears are molded ABS and are provided as part of The Robo 3D printer. In fact all of the plastic components on the Robo are high quality molded parts. The Robo guys may be willing to sell spare parts.

Those extruder gears seem to be of high quality, were did you get them?

those are stock robo 3d extruder gears.

The fan is attached using one M3 screw to the unused screw hole on the extruder stepper motor. This means the fan can move up and down if you want - just need to keep the screw tight.

How do you have this attached to your R1 carriage? It seems you used the mounting tab on the fan somehow but I can't tell what you have it attached to on the printer.

its attached to the stepper motor with a nema screw.

Airflow is ok and can be focussed exactly where you want it. But the length of the duct needs to be kept short.

Of course it would be ok (possibly better?) to use flexible plastic tube (eg the transparent type). The bigger the duct internal cross section area the better.

Nice plan. Are jou happy with the airflow? Tryed if better air flow with a tube that creates less turbulance inside?
