The quality of the texture and amount of subdivisions will affect the detail on your final result. After applying the displacement map, it will need cleanup as the results of using a displacement map can be very rough. Meshmixer is not only good for cleaning up the outside surface of the helmet, it is a useful tool when it comes time to hollow out, resize, and cut out a hole to fit your head.
