Man, I am so glad you posted this, I already requested the files from Steve on the original post but never bothered to search Thingiverse... oops! such a great design, definitely will print this!

Let me tell you something, it is smaller than Steve's design. It was designed for the old version of the hexapod. It still functions correctly.

So I guess your top is not compatible with his base? that's too bad but well just sone note printing to do. Do you use supports? seems like the top of that cap is a pretty long way to bridge.

The top does not need support but if you want a cleaner underside than use supports. I will ask Steve if i could make a copy of his top and make a remix that looks like this.

Yeah that's kinda what I got with Steve's design so no problem at all. (the amount of supports would double the printtime probably)
I am printing the top now, 8 hrs to go. Then I can do the base overnight.
My electronics are set to arrive tomorrow so I should be good to go :)
Ordered some metallic fillament for it but that needs to arrive first, would be awesome to print in metal and dirty the seems a bit to make it look more antique.
Right now it's pink and glow in the dark... at my daughters request :)

How did the print go? Please post to my thingivers page.

I printed the base and cap in glow in the dark filament, looks great but my electronics came in early so I put them in the larger base for now.
I noticed there are no places for the magnets on your version and no electronics/ battery holder so if it's ok I might try a remix in the future. maybe scale your version up to match steves size?

Just wanted to see how it came out. Yet again, my version of the hexapod is the old version. Im working on making it bigger. It will include the same magnet spacing and all the hook ups to Steve's version.

I realize that but had the print already going. no problem and still an awesome design! if you'll gdt it scaled up I will definitely print that one too!
It seems like I can't upload on mobile to the page but here are pics. I'll upload when I get to a PC

I like your rendition of the hexapod. What program did you use to remix the source files? I see most of the parts printed without supports- that did not give you any issues?

I used OpenSCAD for all the parts. Unfortunately, I do not have the original files because I got a new computer and I thought I backed up the files. All I have are the STL files. I had no problems with supports. The only time I used supports was when I printed the Servo brackets. I recommend to uses supports on the Servo brackets because you lose the detail if you don’t. The top part bridges ok, it’s not the best but is also does not look bad.

Awesome remix of the Vorpal Combat Hexapod!
