Sorry if this is a dumb question, does the light assembly require soldering? Really want to make this and the light looks so cool!

I soldered the one I built. That being said, the Lilypad LEDs are designed to be connected together with capacitive thread(without solder I think). You could probably figure out some way of winding/tying/threading the parts together with capacitive thread and getting it to light up.

Would you be open to posting the 3D modeling file for the ring holder part? I am wanting to make this and I just want to make sure it fits my ring.

The only formats I would be able to share is .STL or .OBJ or anything along those lines. I know those formats aren't the easiest formats for everyone to edit but I don't really have any CAD export options.

Would you be willing to post the OBJ then? I don't know if ill be able to edit that one or not but it's worth a try. Thanks for the reply.

Can you help me to figure out the hinge, Mine doesnt seem to open all the way like yours and lay flat, the 2nd lip catches it.

Could have sworn I replied to this before... guess I never hit the "post reply" button and closed the page...

The lid on my box opens to about 70 degrees. The "bottom" of the hinge lightly clips into the side of the box to hold it open. I'd take more photos but I don't have the box anymore.

Only thing I can suggest is sand/trim the hinge to fit your box. If you sand too much then print another and try again. It's a pretty small part so it doesn't take up too much filament.
