Can you make a whole beyblade?

For whatever reason, every time i try to print this, it misses a chunk out of the inner rings that connect the two halves.

Attempted a lot of options (fill, support, etc) multiple times, and am giving up

(M3D)

Hey sorry to hear your having trouble. What program are you using to slice the model? the model is all solid so it shouldn't be having issues. what chunk exactly is missing? are you sure you're not thinking of the newer gen beyblades? the model should print as it looks in the 3d viewport

I have the M3D printer (Micro) and it uses its own software/slicer.

what fails to print is the gold ring.

Not sure why, It shows up in the software as a solid piece and all editing does as well. No worries, likely not your fault

Okay cool. Yeah that's really weird. To be honest i haven't had my printer for a little while now and but i used autodesk 3d print utility to get the model ready before importing it in makerbotDesktop software. I do remember on another model i had parts missing that showed in the viewport in makerbotDesktop but didn't show in autodesp 3d print utility. Have a try of that and see if it helps. These were designed in 123d design at the time when i first started and i think the models might have some data that only reads well in an autodesk programs so i think thats why this is happening.
Im currently doing game art and animation, so i have been using maya and i think i could make some better beyblades now. Haha

Very impressive! I would love to see a print of it!

Thanks for your positive feedback Ishanina :)
I have only done one print of my designs so far, which was the dranzer X design, but i had to get it ordered through http://shapeways.comshapeways.com. Which wasn't the right choice for me as i live in Austrlia and the price was a bit expensive, but someone on the thingivere community told me to try http://Makexyz.comMakexyz.com and that site is so much better for ordering designs. Much cheaper and you search for printers near you!
I have ordered myself the new 5th Generation Replicator Makerbot which starts shipping this friday! So hopefully it comes to Australia soon so i can test more of my designs and put some more pictures up for you :)
Thanks again

Have you tried to print it yet? Looks nice, but I think it will be difficult to get it to print.
-It looks like it doesn't have a flat base. Printing with supports is a pain. Flatten the tails out. They can be heated and warped down after it is printed.
-You will probably loose alot of the smaller details, but it will still be recognizable.

Hey Andy, i just uploaded the file for the flat version ( without the tails under the blade) which i think would work a lot better.
Check it out and let me know what you think :)

Hey Andy,
Haha funny enough before i went to sleep last night i was thinking the same thing. I don't think it would print well with the tail. But it can be changed very easy and quickly. I will upload both files, One with the tails and without and see what eople come up with :)
As for the small detail, I do expect to loose some small detail as i have printed my Dranzer X design and lost a bit, but as you said some detail will still be recognizable. I Am still pretty new to designing and printing so i have yet to test this one, But i am very excited to receive my new 5t gen makerbot Replicator, which should be shipped to australia soon.
Thanks for the feedback Andy :)
