Yes, plain copper wire, 1.5 mm diameter, also called magnet wire (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnet_wire ). Wind it around a steel rod of 5 mm diameter or so, each turn next to the other. Then slide it of and stretch it about a factor of two. Then it gets the openness of a spring and you can easily mount it in any shape you like. Because I chose a 12V system it's safe to do. Don't use high voltage!

that's is exactly what I was thinking when I first looked at your , b you basically wounded an inductor and stretch it out, I am almost sure if you get a am radio and go throw the frequencies you'll pick it on one of them, it maybe be causing a small osculation ringing , All that a side still looks nice though.
