wish someone would remix this for the gen-l and 12864 LCD Graphic Smart Display , i love this case and been using it on my ender for some time, but wanna upgrade my ender with gen-l and tmc2208, great design

Just finished printing and installing the box last night.
Great job on the design Raffo; 22.5 hours for me with Tree Supports at .2 in Cura.

Question Raffo, I see 2 covers for the LCD, what's the difference? Looking to finish assembly tonight.

for what I remember there is no difference, I've just ulpaded the files with the easier angle to print :) , the recent version will need no supports as is plain to the bed

cool, thanks for the heads up. I'll double check my printer to be sure and take another swing before I upload an image. Went with Blue and Silver with beige top on the pi

nice, hope tu see ur make when it's done

So, do I use supports from build plate, or everywhere? It seems like it`s going to have some hard to remove supports if i put them everywhere...

yeah it will take time to remove all supports, do u rever more on the raspberry version right? , try everywhere with overang just at 70-75 degrees

How long did it take to print for you? It shows around 20h for me at .3mm...

dont remember, made on september XD, but yes pèrobably 20-22hours, it's the sad reality of big prints :/

Would love to see a lcd panel for a 12864 lcd with sd card, I'm going to change to a MKS Gen L with a lcd 12864.
looking for a case before a design my own.
Never mind found it.

Raffo will this mod work with a fang and ABL attached?

the mod should not itnerfer with the fang and abl, if u see the other mades of it there are users with fang and abl mods

How do i wire the raspberry via pins to my ender without using a usb cable? Thanks!

I have to upadte the photoes, anyway, u need a cable, under the screen there is a place to let the cable pass and go behind, check the makes of the other users , u'll understand better :)

thanks! but do i need to use the usb port of the ender or can i connect the raspberry to some ports, so the cable is not visible?

thanks! but do i need to use the usb port of the ender or can i connect the raspberry to some ports, so the cable is not visible?

the only way would be solder a bridge inside the usb plug, but a bit risky, anyway with a short cable u get this with this mod, I think is enough hidden

Since you have clearly made mounting holes for a camera on top, what kind of camera / mount to those holes are you using?

are there just for general purpose, never had time to make a camera mount :/

Have to try to come up with something then :)

Hello. The size of the washers to put between the LCD and the covertop please? Thank you.

use the original washers, they are the correct size.

for what I remember I used the original od the control box

This one was a hard print for me, not sure why. It took 3 total attempts, the first 2 were obviously going to fail so I cancelled them and started over. But the 3rd one printed and I'm loving the lower LCD compared to the other Ender 2 LCD mod that's floating about.

eSun PLA+
.20 Layer height

As always Raffo thank you so much for such a great design and sharing it for us! =]

Great design! What USB cable are you using with this setup to hook the raspberry pi to the board? Thanks!

Nice work! Would it be possible to get access to the CAD files? I'd like to do some changes to it.

Have you made a cover for the RPi?

U can download it from the link in the description :)

I'm guessing this will need supports to print?

Can this be printed on the Ender 2? Also which orientation is best to print?

for the big part the orientation is right for the ender 2, it will use about the 80% of the printable volume, I have printed it on mine without issues, for the screen cover I think it has to be flipped 90% on a side

Just to confirm is this designed so that the power supply will fit under the control board?

No, is designed to better use the screen and add a raspberry pi.
Putting the power supply under the printer would cause stability problems

Hey there! What does the raspberri pi do for you with this?

I have more than one printer, so I use octoprint to send over wlan or lan the files to print :) , no need to move sd no need to hook on PC

That is awesome! I am going to snag one of these for sure now.

also if u use cura, there is a plugin that directly upload to octoptint and start the print :), I have all of my printers far from my computer and usually I use the laptop on wifi to send prints
