I love the idea. Very cool and easy to print.
Unfortunately it doesn’t fit to the 2017 Anet A8. Clashes with the heatbed bearings. :(
The threaded rods fit well. The other rods fits too, but it’s already critical. The bearings doesn’t fit at all. The cut-outs are too small and the box is too high. Don’t know, maybe they’ve changed the bearings.
Other than this. There’s enough space to assemble this box and Leo’s frame brace as well. I’ve thickened the front and rear wall of the box by 5mm each. The box is a bit more robust, and box (in front) plus frame brace (behind) fits tight in between front frame and middle bow. No chance for bending anymore.

Would it possible to modify it a little bit, that it will work as a frame brace, too...???

Having this with an integral front frame brace (with mounting holes) would be near-perfect for this printer. That is something I would absolutely print and use on mine.

I've been working on a mod for Leo's frame brace (the most commonly used one) to add drawers. If all goes well, I may upload tomorrow. 1st design, so I may need to tweak a bit.

Hi! Does it fit in the Anet A6? Is the frame too different?

Hi! I don't have anet A6 so I don't know, but the threated rod doesn't seem to be at the same place so I guess it won't work with A6

Thank you, it seems that doesn't match. The A6 frame is different from the A8. Nice work, it is a good idea even if I can't use that!

That's pretty cool...however my final end code pushes my bed forward...would probably not be able to get to the toolbox

Still awesome design, and very ingenious!!!! All that wasted space put to use...GREAT!

Thanks !

You can't see it in the picture, but the box doesn't prevent the bed from mooving, even with the box in place you can send the bed in touch with the front bracket, that's why I design it this way

You could push further the idea by making it able to reinforce the front frame, pretty sure it could work.

I've been thinking of it, I just hadn't the time yet to make it and I wanted to upload a first version. I'll add this and an belt tensioner in this design.

I really like the looks of this, but I have a front frame brace already. Not sure if there is room for both, It'd be nice if the 2 were combined.

The length of the box is 140 mm so you can check if they will both fit. And yes I've been thinking of adding a front brace but did't got the time to do it by now
