The worm gear is way to far away form the rotating big gear. When the weight is heavy, it starts skipping because of the distance. If the worm gear was closer, it could move much bigger things.

Yeah, that's true, V2 of the turntable is high-clearance. There is an older version (V1) of the turntable gear still included in the thing files, named something like rotating_lamp_turntable_center_pivot, dated 17/9/17. This was the original with lower clearances.

can this be scaled down to fit on my 140mm bed?

I think scaling it would be a problem for the motor mount and would make for irregular hole/screw sizes. So, no I don't think you could scale it down.

Nice design! Works great! I printed the drive end of the worm gear sliced into the washer model and it made a very stable base so I was able to print it standing up (with supports). This made the layers much smoother for interdigitating with the table drive gear.

Hello, great job! I print all the parts and now I´m waiting for the motor to be delivered.
One think I don´t understand - what is the washer for? I cannot see it in the pictures.

Edit: I´ve found it right now. I was blind... :-)

fantastic work .. thank you

Any plans to make external cover ?

Sorry, no plans for anything on else on this design. I might revise to use spur/pinion gears instead, but that would be a few months away.

The STL files for the washer and the pieces that clamp down the worm drive are missing. All of the other parts have printed great.

The clamp down is there ... but shouldn't be needed ... I haven't tried it. I added the washer. Good luck, hope assembly goes well.
