Tyrant scale rending claws

So far I've printed three pieces with varying degrees of success. Some data:

-Printer: Velleman Vertex K8400
-Filament: 1.75 mm PLA (350 µm nozzle)
-Scaled the model up by 5 %
-0.1 mm layer height / 33 % infill
-Used support (touching bed) & brim
-Flipped the arms 90 ° so that they rested horizontally ("palms down) on the bed

I first tried to print the arms upright (default position) but quickly realized that this is meant for SLA printers. Also went for a bit larger scale since the arms felt a bit too flimsy at first glance for a Tyrant. For the second run I also decided to flip the arms so that the talons would print better. The point was that the support would be on the underside of the arms, meaning that I don't have to be as thorough when I would polish the print. However, on the "downside", you're gonna have to print the talons from the sharp tip and up, meaning that you may see some filament driblets on the sides. Option B is obviously to flip the thing 270 ° and print it "palms up". Then you don't have to do overhangs on the talons but you need to be much more patient about polishing the finished product.

I attached a few photos. Note that the talons, for some reason, have these big holes in them (red circles). For me, these were incredibly difficult to print correctly and I basically had to rely on green stuff to get them done properly. As for the arms, this is a great model and fits the Tyrant like a glove.

Thanks for this model! (Consider breaking the model down for FDM friendly bitz in the future:)

Any chance you can make the arm sections longer? they cut off nearly at the elbow rather than the shoulder; and don't fit on any models very well. I've ordered 3 pairs off shapeways from you but wasn't able to use them because they were too short. and looked funny in the sockets. They are also sized for a Tyrant Guard Model (the short body guard models for the Hive Tyrants). I dont mean to complain, I love your work, I just would also love to be able to use it too :-D
Looking forward to see more of your creations!

Thanks for your support! These were meant to be magnetized and used on the Hive Tyrant model. I've added some pictures of resin prints. I plan to make a longer set like broodlord arms, but it could be a while before I get to it.

The broodlord ones are longer, and fit the Hive Tyrant much better, if you make that size it would look PERFECT and I would love to try those!

These are amazing. Chance of doing crushing claws?
anyone printed these on a resin? with a bigger base will these print like this without additional supports?

Fantastic work. Can't wait to get these up and running!

This is so detailed!!! It will look Bad-A on my tyrant!!

Cant wait to see what you post next!
