This is an adapter to mount E3D V6 Hot Ends to the BCN3D Sigma R16 or R17 machine.
This mount will go in place of the standard metal mount. Should be lighter and should mount at the same height as the original hot ends. So no hitting limit switches or anything during bed calibration as what happen with other mounts.
I used a different layer fan other than the Stock one that comes with the Sigma machine. I ordered: "24V 40mm Blower Fan 4020 40mm x 20mm Turbo Cooling 3D Printer Rep Rap 2pin" from E-Bay
- v6 HotEnd Full Kit - 3.00mm Bowden (24v)
Note: Sigma hot-end fans (not layer fans) are 12V! When you order your hot ends, you need to order the 24v version in order for it to work with your sigma. However the fans will also come for 24v and that will not work!. So right after I placed my order in the E3D website, I sent a notice to the staff kindly asking them to switch the fans in my order to 12v. They where kind enough to swap them for me.
Hope you enjoy the mount! If you have any suggestions, please write to me or leave them in the comments. I will do my best to implement anything that improves this!
THIS IS A TESTED WORKING MOUNT, I HAVE 3 machines running with them for long hours now
UPDATE: Uploaded F360 file
I used standard ABS For Printing. Worked well without melting or any other kind of issues since the place that the hot-end gets held is not hot enough to melt. Some people reported success even with PLA.
You can print on any printer, it is a very simple part to print with no special care required. Just try to use at least 25% infill so it can be strong enough to not brake during assembly.
I used Fusion 360, and the models that BCN3D posted on github for the original mounts. And a good digital caliper tool. And a couple of iteration prototypes.
I won't mind sharing the original F360 file on demand.
