Based on the low-poly Bulbasaur by FLOWALISTIK (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:327753), and inspired by this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgY7ovYWplg).
This produces a 'spiralized' (like a Slinky toy) version of the Bulbasaur that is very satisfying to play with. There is a 0.25mm spiral cut through the whole body of Bulbasaur. When printed at 0.15mm layer heights, the spiral becomes a weak layer and can be split with a scraper or knife.
I hope to make the other starter Pokemon soon.
I have not tried smaller layer heights and they may work but larger are unlikely. Use only buildplate supports to avoid supports inside the spiral layers. This model is unlikely to scale well.
I printed it fine in ABS even with a little warping.
After printing you can split the spiral using a knife or scraper. i found that the layers come apart quite easily even if they look fused. be careful not to break the top of the head or the top of the bulb. There are some thinner parts that could break if you use too much force.
