Did you ever make it bigger? If so, what results you get?

No, never scaled the design up, this would require to split the design in several parts in order to fit those on my printer and glue them together.

There are some windturbine designs on thingiverse that are much bigger and split up in printable parts. But those are without a generator.

Well it depends on what generator (Motor) you use but it is certainly not in the amps category rather in mA...

how many amp have this turbine?

looks like yo used an 608z (typical skateboard bearing) i just wanna make sure thats what you used and where is the pully stl???

The bearing is a 6000Z (info is in the description too), 26mm outer diameter and 10mm inner diameter, but any other bearing with these dimensions should work. Its an encapsulated version (probably not the best in therms of low friction). I uploaded the missing pulleys stl files.

could you add a missing wall for enclosure? How long belt should be?

Ok, I designed the side panel and uploaded the files, haven't printed them though but it should fit. I designed it for self tapping machine screws 2.2x6,5mm DIN 7981C.

Thank you very much! :) Belt is already printed, pulleys are in progress so the wall will be printed tomorrow, Idea with side panel will be very useful for future. I will post a picture here when it will be printed. I have probably a last question about this project. ;) How the sizes of pulleys were determined? Like you can see I will use a standard DVD motor (5V). In your configuration rpm of motor will be lower than turbine rotation. During the tests turbine was very powerful, so maybe the configuration of pulleys should be changed especially for DVD motor?

I didn't do a calculation for the pulley ratios, just a gut decision =:) I just observed that I needed more torque for the stepper generator, rpm isn't that important if you have so many poles in the generator...

I printed the side panel and it fits, I uploaded two pictures. For the DVD motor you could probably mount the pulleys the other way around, so you get some decent rpms on that "DVD generator".

Did you printing the belt with Filaflex? How well does that work for the timing belt? I would be interested in a picture...

everything in your project fit perfectly. i had some issues with pulleys (for dvd motor) but now it will probably work. Few free days more and I will put here final result. During test I had few miliampers from this machine. :D

Yes, maybe I will be able to do it today

Thank you, I’m gonna try and make it to the 608z bearing it’s easier to get and for 13 cents each it’s much much cheaper

The timing belt I used is a T2.5-177.5 width 6mm like this
