This is an attempt to create a parametric version of the famous SCxUU type linear bearing housing/holders. This design is a bearing "snap in" design, you simply click your bearings in the housing as the inner rims will hold the bearings in place. The fastener holes are small enough to insert an M4 tap to make the threads, screwing them in without a tap will also work. Feel free to experiment!
The rendered STL here can hold the RJMP-01-08 linear bearings with a diameter of 16 mm (note the RJ4JP-01-08 bearings are 15 mm in diameter, you can simply alter the design parameters in Fusion360 to create your own STL files).
I replaced the metal blocks with this design on the extruder carriage which now runs way more quite. Next step is replacing the heatbed carriage bearings. Note that is might be wise to increase the width between the screw holes a little bit, as it was a little bit tight.
P.S. I did not choose/buy that table cloth, good thing is that my wife now also begins to think it needs replacement... :)
Bearing housings and Igus style bearings are now also installed on the y carriage; the noise during printing is now reduced to such a level that I can print in the living room without upsetting the wife when she's watching TV! :)
