This is an excellent change to the machine, the display is so much easier to see while sitting down. Although I will add that is it a super tight fit to get the display board into the housing and manage all the fastening hardware. The assembly takes patience, but overall worth the effort.

It's strange because I didn't have any issues. I think it might just be the slight change in print settings.

You could be right. It would be nice if there was a configuration file exchange for Cura out there on the internets......

I printed this. The mod is certainly a good idea, but like some others, I have a fan mod attached and it doesn't really work with the fan mod. Instead of modding this and reprinting (that was a LOT of PLA with supports), I just slid the thing over two screws. I'll print a support plate later, but for now, its a pretty good solution. I didn't have the screws (I need to get some as I like those better and will eventually need the screws for the support plate), so I just used the two extra screws. I printed this pretty slowly, but the screw holes could have used a slight bit of enlargement as the PLA shrank a bit on cooling. At any rate, it works off to the left if you have a left mounted part cooling fan support. Or print a fan support for the other side. I'd already had one, so wasn't going to remix that.

Yea in the details I've linked to remixes that resolve the fan issue.

Yeah, I looked at those. The right-mounted fan looked best because the others looked like they would have the same issue. At least with my fan mount.

how do you remove the knob on the printer to remover screen panel

It's just on there with friction. It should pull off fairly easy.

oh, thanks for the help don't know how I didn't notice that.

Just installed this but sadly it doesn't work with the single blower mount :( The fan crashes into the LCD housing

cr 10 , ender 2 - 3 , creality single blower 50mmx15

Bawww I don't have that mod so I wouldn't have know. I'll put it in the notes though thanks!

Hi, what is the actual version?

I mean the stl files V1 or v2?

How to print? Front panel on the heatbed?

V2 is the updated version with the adjusted openings. I would use that. I just printed it as is with supports and did not have any issues.

Crazy, thats a lot support

Thats how I did it. I was new to it. Have at it.

Nice mod printed today and installed. Very pleased with it.

I just want to knock up a clip on back cover for it

Printed it today, nice design!
Unfortunately it doesn't fit 100% to the display. Also the hole for the knob is way to low.
Maybe they changed the display design?

I think my first run was just not as accurate. I did this when I was first going and haven't updated anything. I am going to tweak a V2 out today. Mine is like this as well but it didn't really affect it once the knob was back on so I never adjusted it.

Thanks, that would be great!

I moved the LCD opening down a mm and shrank it by 2mm so that should cover a bit better. I also moved the knob hole down 3mm in the v2. I left the old file up just in case. I will print one when I get home and see.

Can you recall what settings you had on the printer, I've tried printing this, but get a lot of stringing on the rear top sloping section.

Hey there!
I did this when I was early on with my printer so it should be pretty stock from what the printer said to set cura at. I did print mine with default cura supports. I do have the file from the printer sd card if you want that info I can dig it up.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for getting back, I'm pretty new at this myself and may have just messed the settings up, but if you can send the file that would be great.

I have done a slight redesign to enable me to include a raspberry pi zero w, with camera to have an octoprint setup built in.

Cheers, Steve
