I tried this on the makerbot with PLA. To get it to worn I had to print on 0.1 mm layers and double the scale. Printed at the default size I couldn't get the scales to separate.

He used an SLA printer. FDM printers don't easily attain this level of detail.

Hi there! I am an up and coming fashion designer looking to experiment with 3d printed fabrics for a few of my designs. Would you be able to tell me where I could purchase fabrics such as these or if we could work together to produce a 3d fabric. Will be incorporating this sort of fabric with pure fine fabrics for my upcoming collection. Please do let me know, kind regards - Salita

simple and elegant, i love it

i think its a perfect base for Thor s arm mail.
maybe i try to glue aditional scales to it.

gonny try this soon on my UM1..
what size is the spacing between parts?

I couldn't say exactly but it seems to be around 1mm. You just need to make sure nothing intersects and you should be fine.

thx. should work on my UM

What did you use to print this? You mentioned it wasn't FDM...

It was printed on a Stratasys Objet 30. SLA printer.
