TOP TIP: Print the base in a translucent filament. It makes it so much easier to see how and where you’re cutting.

Since my account is shadowbanned around here, people don't see this like they used to. It'd be really helpful if you could do a [Make] of this and you could post this very good tip there, too.

PTFE Tube Guillotine Cutter

Awesome. Thank you!

Perfect little tool and beautifully designed. I printed the V4 so I can have 45 degreee cuts and it's excellent. Thank you very much!

I am always happy to hear when my designs are useful to others. :)

Credit where it’s due mate. I’m always happy to hear when people find my designs helpful. This has helped me loads today.

Just a thought to make a little extra use out of this, do you think you could add a little 45 degree guide to help cut filament at an angle to make it easier to insert in the unused extra space the blade comes down on ? I would remix it if i had any skills at all with design but I struggle enough with just printing the things :-p

I have uploaded an updated ( _v4 ) version of the base with the 45° guide. Enjoy :)

Yeah. I can do that. I'll try to do it tonight. I'll reply back when I upload that file for you.

Works great! Perfectly cut my new tube in seconds and solved an issue with my hotend. Thanks!

Glad to be of help :)

Really nice design. I've printed one and it works great except for one thing. How do you get the small piece of tubing out of the slot past the blade? I have a piece stuck in there now.

I'd like to recommend that the through hole for the tubing go all the way through so you can access the small cut piece from the other side. Would you be able to make this modification or post the design files so that I can try this out?

Thanks.

lol... The first few times I used this, the piece just fell out when I turned it sideways, but the last time I tried it, sure enough, just like you, the piece got stuck. I think I took a large paper clip and shoved it in so that it snugged down into the tube and was able to pull it out that way. I've uploaded a revised version for you. Give it a try and let me know. As always, if you could upload an [I Made One], I love to see yours!

Thank you. Printing v3 now. :)

Also just realized that now you can pull PTFE through the hole to a certain length and make your cut. This increases the versatility of this tool for me as I need to cut smaller lengths out of a 5m roll.
