It doesn't work with hard things like potato.
The potato get stuck at the plastic edge after passing through the knife blade.
Also slice consistency depends on how much pressure you apply so especially for thick slices it's less consistent.

Still it's very useful for smaller things or thinner slices. Thanks for sharing !

This looks awesome. I am going to print it soon. I wonder if you could work in small attached clips for saran wrapping over the middle part that touches the food your slicing - this would prevent having to clean up that surface and make it a bit more food safe.

So i made it but it doesn't look like the slider moves the plate out :( OH i see the objective is not to push the plate out, then it would go over the knife. It's to push the plate IN, and the slider limits the amount of pushing in that can occur.

Moving the slider closer to the blade edge makes for thinner slices by only letting it bend in slightly. Moving it closer to the top allows it to bend in more, making thicker slices.

How do you keep the slider from just... sliding all the way down? It's loose.

i dont understand the concept.. can you show the working real life application?

I added a photo of the one I've been using.
