I keep getting too much of a gap where the new layer doesn't stick and the filament just drags across. Not sure what I can do to fix this.

How will the 3d printer handle the space between the coils? Do you need to perform manual actions after the print? Thx for feedback.

You basically get a week bond between the coils and can simply take a putty knife across to separate.

I HATE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!20 OUHRS TO PRINT!?! I JUST HATE IT!!!!!!!!

Ever heard of a springo

also known as a slingo

Should it be printed in vase mode?

My son printed this on his XYZ Jr. Pro out of MakerBot Translucent PLA and it came out awesome. I Printed one on my Replicator 2 and it also came out mega awesome! Good work!

does this work in PLA? Or do you need a flexible material?

I print it with PLA and it works fine!!

Yes. I printed mine in PLA.

Mine went terrible :p i think I might need to design my own using anet a8 and the layers didn't go down very well..

What was the problem? Did the layers not fuse or fuse too well?

No layers did not fuse very well. I just need one with less space

Raise your printing temperature. That, or scale the Z down in your slicer.

EXCELLENT design. Printed on Makerbot Mini in 12.5 hrs with extruder+ (1,213 print hours). Separated the 50 coils EASILY in less than 10 minutes; leaving both ends 2 coils thick. Settings were .20mm resolution/10% infill/2 shells/no sppts. Of my 1,556 prints (2 mini's) this year, this was the longest and most satisfying by far. So tired of 4-6 hr/print-in-place prints that either fused, broke at weak points or required way too much post-processing. THANK YOU!

THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!! I printed one of these in orange on my MOD-t and i think this is even better then a real slinky!!!!! Thanks man!!!

Dude! This is awesome! I think my kids would love something like this...in glow in the dark lol

Thanks for the design. It's great to see designers coming up with little tweaks and methods that end up making it our own. Keep up the awesome work brotha!
