I tried using these cut from 1/8" acrylic, and the arms snapped off while trying to seat the blades. :-\ I tried several times... it's just not flexible enough. Hardboard/MDF is probably the best material.

Made a derivative of these and posted it here on thingiverse. See http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:40690http://www.thingiverse.com/thi... yea they may make you nervous and you may not want to use them in a production environment where you have not so bright people running the laser but if its your machine and you control the environment and you don't have kids to worry about I highly recommend these little guys. They make a huge difference. Not only can you see your work much more clearly but you don't have the edge of the honeycomb table to deal with either. Once you use them you wont want to go back to using the honeycomb table.

Tried these at my lab and they made everyone nervous as hell. I believe the smirk on the face of this thing is basically a "lol, if you're stupid enough to actually make these, you deserve what's coming to you"

Like it, but keep away from children and Ninjas.
