I love this customizer and all the shapes but I can find a rhombic triacontahedron as well as other more interesting catalan solid I would like to print

Printing with Simplify 3D but it is detecting model errors such as non-manifold edges and self intersecting surfaces. Has anyone had problems with these prints? My print preview looks okay so I will give it a try without fixing anything.

You won't need supports. Lay the decagonal face flat on the bed in MakerWare.

I think you are right, there are rounding errors somewhere. These planes/fillets, are practically 0 volume and do not show up in the final slicing for me.

I didn't know about the faces argument for polyhedron, is that a new feature of OpenSCAD? When I get a chance I will convert the database to faces instead of triangles.

So I want to print one of these but I'm not sure how I should manage supports, it looks like I may need a couple but I obviously don't want them all over, is there something I can do here? (trying to make http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:275129http://www.thingiverse.com/thi... on a replicator 2)

Customized Convex Polyhedra

Beautiful & easy to use - deserved to be featured. It must have taken ages to type all the data in.

It's a minor cutout/wireframe issue, but I noticed that 108 (disphenocingulum), has some very thin diagonal fillets on some of the square faces (it's easier to see them in OpenSCAD). Guess it's rounding errors when subtracting the triangular prisms from the polyhedral faces. Ditto 4 (dodecahedron), 6, 8, 24, 104-107 (from a quick sample). A face with 4 edges or above is key.
Would polyhedron(faces=[]) help?

So glad to see this featured! It was the inspiration for most of what I've been printing this week. I love how your wireframes have flat faces, they look great! And to do over 100 of them, WOW!

Thanks for the fix, I updated poly.scad and now #9 works!

This is a really cool tool and a great source for projects, and it's wonderful to see it featured today!

WOW, this is really great. It's wonderful to have all these in one customizable collection.

In your instructions you said you had trouble with #9 not being valid for STL export in cutout mode. When that sort of thing happens to me it is usually because I have some faces that are identical, and jiggling some faces a tiny bit fixes the problem. I think replacing the cutout code with "P_wire(polyhedron_type,(100-shell_percent*1.01)/100.0)" fixes the issue and allows for valid STL export.

Can't wait to print these out!
