I found in sculptris, adds of new spheres etc. would end up with polygons "trapped" inside.
as is the case with the eyes in this piece.
if you find a workflow to resolve the issue please do share,
as I would like to be able to use the add feature in sculptris
and not end up with internal Polys.

well ultimaker cura can eat away these trapped bubbles with the advanced function called "A-combine everything"
for modeling process i import into Cinema4d where a single mesh arrives. then i split it to its poly groups. after that i have to manualy add all via boleean operation together.
maybe you can do this with meshmixer and meshlab.. dont know.

I use accutrans to convert to .obj, (it converts lots of different formats)

but sculptris has problems with "too many polygons attached to a single point"
(or something to that effect) on import of meshes often. It is an annoyance.

not sure what the best solution to that is.
At this point in time I have to jump around thru different programs
(meshmixer, truespace, blender, netfabb <(nice for auto fixing holes etc).
but Sculptris is a favorite as it is most intuitive for me.
truespace (5) is a great tool for the kit as well.
does cura have a export to stl,obj dxf? I don't currently use it.

add this to your arduino bots for more EEW factor.
