More than 2 years and still always in my second switch case. Can't imagine having to carry the normal dock with you everywhere, ugh.
BTW, I always have a couple of rubber bands tied around it, when putting the switch on it I secure it with the rubber bands to keep it pushed into the USB connector properly.

its for "increased airflow". blocks the bottom vents less.

Sadly you need a special screwdriver to open up your original switch dock. Oh well, I'm sure your favorite online stor has them for just a few bucks.

Just wanted to say, it's been a year and still going strong. Still dig this design.

Need this with a wall mount

I can probably make a wall mount version...

This looks like it covers the back air intake and also the Switch is supposed to stand upright. It's what makes air flow up and doesn't put pressure on the fan to work harder to push hot air up.

....thats not how thermodynamics works, hot air is not "harder" to move in any specific direction, hot air is generally considered less dense than cooler air so it appears to "rise" but it is not in fact "heat" that only goes up, heat radiates outward in all directions and as long as air is flowing through the device, the hot air will be carried out. I understand the confusion but you should really fact check your understanding pf thermodynamics before posting things like that since it can deter others from designs like this.

The Switch is supposed to be in whatever orientation you feel like, that's the whole point. And with this dock it has far more airflow than the official dock which entirely encloses the console. The back support only touches at the middle where the logo is, all ventilation is completely clear.

Thank you! Also, tips have been enabled!

Totally agree. This defeats the airflow design of the switch.

It does not cover the vents. And heat rises naturally...
