Is there a step file that has the male side of this? I download the step file and it is only for the female version. Thank you for sharing this, great idea.

Hi drwho2,

I just uploaded a new .step file and it should be both male and female sides now. It should also include the bearing I used to check the distance for the proper fit. :)

it did not thread together so im increasing the female side by 2%

Increasing the size won't work - it will change the pitch of the threads. You have to just work the threads until the go in. Make sure your retraction settings are set correctly or any little piece of filament will cause it to not thread properly. What i recommend is cleaning the threads with a bit of light sand paper or scotch brite to sand off all of the little plastic bits that might be on the threads.

Hope this helps, but I promise you, the files work well. Just make sure to print them STL at a high resolution (.100mm-.150mm or the threads will not work due to their size)

Upped the size and printed 2 threads at once and it worked fine

Cool! Glad that worked out.

I'm working on updating the model to make it a bit better. Thanks for the feed back. I can work that into the update :D

What do you mean by resolution

Resolution means Layer Height - also known as microns.

Hope that helps.
