I know this is more about threads than a functional turnbuckle, but this design doesn't make any sense because when the threads are lined up with the groove in the turnbuckle it will just pull right out.

Hi, the flat spots on the male thread are far wider than the groves in the female thread so it never pulls out.

How small can these be made? Would to use for model ship building. about 1/2 to 3/4 inch would work. thanks

I've not quite gotten around to printing these, but it's next on my list. For other threads that I've printed (M6 typically) I've had very good luck orienting the threads vertically, and setting my layer height to an even fraction of the thread pitch (0.1mm layer height for 6mm x 1.0mm threads). I have a Taz 5 with a 0.5mm tip. I think the typical values for line width are based on nozzle size, from about 0.5x nozzle size up to about 3x nozzle size (though 3x sounds huge). If I assume 0.5 is the minimum (which is what should matter here), the that should mean that my smallest line size will be 0.25mm, or 2.5x bigger than the layer height that I've been using. I've heard folks have good success with thinner layer heights as well. What are your thoughts?

Vertically printed threads are very weak.

No, I just created it as a print test for printable metric threads.
