printed - Apito and it looks like there's a piece of support there. Or is it part of the whistle?

Also, what is the best way to print this? standing on the mouth piece with brim like the other models?

Thank you in advance!

Hi there, sorry for the late reply... Yes, there is a support under the lanyard hole. I've been getting the best results printing MKIV with the support side touching the heatedbed. Other tip: to reach the tone it has been projected to play print it (if possible) with 0.28mm for external perimeter. Maybe in a few days I'll be uploading another version of Apito with a little different sound and another with the mouth piece oriented perpendicular to the vents - it helps to remove water only blowing it.

GODDAMN its loud as HELL!

I have printed manny whistles on thingivirse this one is by far the loudest I printed the apito and it is very comparable to my fox 40 sonic blast

I've printed your v3 and love it. It seems that my Fox 40 Classic might be a tad louder but I'll do more testing. I've just finished printing your Apito MKIV due to it's similarities of the Fox 40 Sonik Blast. It's late night and barely gave it any air and it was a bit scary. I'll test in the morning and give my results. I'll post a Make for the Apito too. Thanks.

Edit: The Apito MKIV is very loud. I it is extremely close to my Fox 40 classic in volume. Both makes ears ring with full blow. The sound note is lower and you can easily make out that it's two tone. Prefer it's sound.

Edit 2: I've tried quite a few whistles and even many that claim to be the loudest and none come close to the Apito MKIV. Much louder than the famous V29. I love this and just printed one in PETG to keep on my key chain. There is one more that with a similar design that many have reported to be the loudest on thingiverse. I'll compare and report.

Final Edit: I have moved on to https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2933021 this whistle as it is nearly as loud as the Apito but takes much less air and about 25% smaller and prints in half the time.

Extremely loud and compact emergency whistle

Hi there! Thanks for your comment/review. This other model is really nice too and I have recommended it (thanks to you) for a friend who had the same "complaint" about how strong it has to be blown. I made it a little more "difficult" to blow because (I was surprised) some people were able to "overblow" the V3.

The Apito MKIV support is too thin. It didn't register on Simplify 3D. I tried lowering layers down to .1mm still not showing up properly. Can you upload one without the support built in so that I may use the slicer support? (Or maybe make it a little thicker?) Looking forward to trying out the new design!

EDIT: I just figured it out. In the advance tab under settings, "allow single extrusion walls" for "external thin wall type" For anyone else that might run into similar issues. :)

In my prints (using Slic3r: print settings>advanced), I set "external perimeter" for 0.36mm for this piece. Even using lower layers, it doesn't mean a thinner extrusion width - you need set this up. Anyway, did your solution work? If yes, what do think about this new design, the sound etcetera...

Just printed the larger chamber whistle. Came out great! Thanks again.

You are welcome!

I play a lot of indoor volleyball and the the Fox 40 Whistle is my go to whistle when reffing! Just checking if you had any updates before printing.
Can't wait to give it a try. Thanks for sharing!
