I would love to be able to modify your designs; I primarily want to add a new fan size for the part cooler (60mm instead of 40mm or 80mm). I might try to make some changes to the main bracket as well. Can you share your original design files?

Thanks for the design. This was exactly the right thing for my new Titan, V6 hot end and volcano (which is a great combo!).
I would like to use a 50mm fan for a part cooling fan (the 80mm seems to be just a bit too much). Is there any chance you could update the 40mm duct to 50mm?


Which pancake stepper do you recommend?
Do I have to flash firmware or is it ok to do all through S3D OFFSET.
Can you explain better splicing new stepper to old cable bundle? Are wires on CR-10 color coded to do this easily?

Hi. Thanks a ton for the mount. Somehow I need to redesign the part cooling fan since I can't get it to stay in its position and as soon as it drops down it tangles with my part and in some cases ruined my print due to massively skipped steps. Are you aware of tricks how to avoid the fan from falling down (even when the screw is tightened very much)?

How does the x/z-axis seem to deal with the additional weight being thrown around? Actually, what is the weight difference between this compared to the original hotend assembly?

I did not see any decrease in print quality or increased ringing on the X axis as a result of adding this. The weight difference depends on the size of fans you put on there. Overall it is heavier but you are saving the weight of that metal box on the stock part so at least the added weight serves a purpose!

can this work with normal e3d v6?

Mechanically yes, you could mount the normal V6 hot end however you would need to adjust your Z offset since the length of the normal V6 assembly is shorter than the Volcano. Also the part cooling fan would need to be scaled down on the Z axis to reflect the difference in height.
