The handle broke on me on 10% , it borke so easy ama try 40%. i was just holding it to get a feel lol.

A concern I've heard is that you have to point up and left with the left stick for you to walk forward in a straight line and vise-versa with the right. You'd have to find a way to remap the sticks which I don't think is possible.

I have printed the 20° version and like some others i had the problem that my joy cons won't slide in. I think the problem for me was that my printer has a resolution of 0.4mm and not 0.3mm as it sais in the description. But i have imported the model to blender and made the rails thinner. Printed the modified version and had no problems sliding in the joy cons. And the rails still seem solid and don't feel like they will break off soon. For those who want, here's my modified .stl file.

Awesome! But wouldn't it make more sense to make the crest higher and remove the 'notch' from the grip and replace it with an indent? Now it's just really hard to print the grip without too many supports, by changing it there is the posibility to print the grip on a flat surface! :D

What's the best orientation to print the grips?

I got the 2.1 rails to work with only minor sanding. Thanks for the update!

Here is another idea for the rails. One could use the metal rails from the joycon wrist straps. You can open the plastic part and take out the metal rail pretty easily. And these wrist straps are super cheap on ebay. Then leave out the guiding rails in the model and attach the metal rails to the print.

I was thinking something similar but didn't want to give up my wrist straps 8'}. Here is hoping that we end up being able to pick up a pack of rails off of alibaba eventually.

I agree that this would be a really good option to have. You could even take the rails off the original joy-con grip seeing as most people will no longer be using it after printing this. I'm having a really hard time getting my joy-cons on.

It should work with screws 13-16mm long. You can use longer screws if you just use some spacers in the back screw holes. If you want to use anything shorter, you will need to tweak the files to make the back screw holes deeper.

Love the flexibility and execution. I've had no success sliding a joycon on yet though.. just seems too tight. I'll update with pictures if I succeed.

Same issue here. I have not tried filing down the sides yet. The initial build seems a bit tight.

I had the same issue, filing down the ridges on the outer edges of the rails solved this for me. Tried other design where the rails were too thin and just broke off when trying to slide on the joy cons.

Yeah, sorry guys, it's kinda tricky trying to find a balance between something snug and sturdy, or something flimsy and floppy. I think I'm going to try just a adding just a smidge more space to the inside of the rail, and suggest sanding the outside of the rails to fit. Update should be coming a bit later tonight.
