I made one on a mini. Lots of supports but came out great. Even stood on it's tail without modification.

Made the Dolphin twice, both times - not enough support on the tail fins to keep the filament from not adhering causing the final product to be offset. Will try making it a different way/layout on the machine.

What machine and filament were you using? Also, which slicing software? I've printed on a Makerbot Replicator 2 with 1.75mm PLA, sliced with ReplicatorG/SkeinForge (full support), and it has come out fine. I've noticed that sometimes the support structure is flimsy and gets knocked out of place by the head - maybe keep an eye on the build till the tail fins are complete? Thanks for your feedback!

I am using a Makerbot Replicator 2 with 1.75 PLA, support. How do I / would I slice with ReplicatorG/SkeinForge (full support)?

In the Generate GCode dialog in ReplicatorG, check "Use Raft/Support" and under "Use support material" dropdown, select "Full support" (or equivalent), not just exterior support. Also, try printing the large version - it's usually more stable.

this is a cool dolphon
