I think with my 17 printers I could have it ready in a couple of weeks instead of 2 months haha

Would you be mad/upset if some one else printed this and put it up locally in a art place. Of course with your credit on who made the design and build the first one. I would love to have one of these and show it off.

That is amazing. Hope it gets exhibited somewhere.

I'm impressed! Very inspiring

Your child has no chance. Might as well sign him up for organic chemistry. LOL This is inspiring and amazing patience.

This is incredible.
We should crowdsource a massive borg cube.

Truly impressive. I am with so many others in wondering how you come up with such fascinating designs. Thank you for sharing your work.

a mini desktop version would be nice. Impressive!

i agree a mini version would be really cool

This is impressive on so many levels. Well Done.

Does that make it hard for the baby to sleep? :P

15 spools?! Why Black?

Yeah, more like 6 of the big 5lb ones from Ultimachine. Black is my favorite color; also I think black looks the best for 3D printing, mostly because it shows off the layer reflections so well. Some people try to hide the layer lines, but I think the way the light plays off them is really beautiful and I try to accentuate it in my designs.

yeah black prints have a sort of "graphite" look that is very fascinating, and also they come worst in photo&cams so one has to enjoy black 3d print in real...... but may be I love carbon like structures because I'm made by carbon :-). By the way may be one day I think that I could see a your print at the "biennale d'arte" in Venezia. "conceptual" and cinematic 3d print such that cloud be very well suited... :-)

I'll do a sample test with some translucents to see if the BBs show through.

How Do you come up with these designs?

Welcome back! Amazing work!

We just watched your video of your sculpture, Emmett! This is nothing short of amazing and jaw-dropping! Apart from just being a cool art installation, the sheer number of parts and amount of work to assemble it is astonishing!

Thanks for sharing the files! We guess that your old MakerBot Replicator is a trusty workhorse! :)

Nice work Emmett, really impressive.

One thing though, you seem to have forgotten to add the gyroids themselves, and/or didn't link to them.
Edit: I just now see you remixed this from the gyroids thing.

Just came here to say Holy s**t emmet ! here's a cube, here's a twisted heart... OH MY GOD, it's a 30 lbs kinetic sculpture thingy

Your motor is well hidden. The pump alone is beautiful.

Anytime you post something I just think, "HOW?" This is incredible, I cant imagine all the work that was involved with the modeling, let alone the assembly! This is truly remarkable!
