Golden Snitch - stand

Golden Snitch Stand

thank you ... its for my son he's going to propose to his girlfriend next month & shes mad on Harry Potter you will make 3 people very happy :)

Awesome! I actually made this for a client who proposed to his girlfriend. Best wishes to both of them :)

How did you get the wings to bend the way they are? I assume its some kind of heat gun?

I printed this in PETG, so I dipped it in hot water, bent it carefully, then let it cool in a bent position. If you're using PLA, a blow dryer or heat gun might be enough.

What's the best way to print the wings? When I drop them into my software (FlashPrint) it's showing only a very thin line of contact with the plate along the "stem" part across the length of the wing -- should supports be used? Also any chance you can upload the model for the stand?

Great work by the way!

Hi Ancho,

The wings are supposed to be printed flat at 200 microns (entire wing surface touching the build plate), or at 100 microns w/ -0.1mm Z-offset. I have not used Flashprint before, so maybe try to tinker with the settings. No supports are needed. You can use a skirt to prime the nozzle (but don't use a brim). The stand is actually a BB-8 stand I had lying around. Try printing this instead: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1348193
