This is an interesting idea. I am curious to try it out and it looks pretty solid. I also use Shapr3D and I was wondering if you would mind if I tried remixing this design.

It's a nice design, unfortunately there are a few things that should be adressed:

  • The 9 mm diameter is too small for the charging adapter (9.1 mm).
  • The pencil just barely fits through (8.9 mm) but the tolerance means that to take out the pen, you have to remove its' cap. Also I'm afraid of scratching the pen's plastic exterior on the magnet ring.

Something like 9.5 mm (3/8") would allow for looser tolerances, while the 3d printed part could stiil be adjusted for a snug fit..

Nice Design. I am wondering if it would be better to use 2 magnets on each side. Do you think the force of 1 magnet per side is strong enough for throwing it into a bag?

Please look here.

I think there will be more companies in the US that sell this kind off products.

The size off te above mentions magnets is different so te design has toe be changed.

Any idea where I can get these magnets in the USA? The site on the package doesn't list the USA as a shipping choice as the site states it doesn't Export these to USA, Canada or Japan.
