Nice can you tell me what to search for when looking drive train that's pictured
Ideally 32mm

Try , they have what you need

I am having great fun printing the parts, very nice little model, thanks for sharing, the chassis seems a bit flimsy, (will try 100% infill on that to see if it stiffens ) everything has so far printed much better than expected on my A8. I plan to (selectively) coat the parts with XTC 3D to smooth out striations

Glad to hear you liked it, it’s strange that you gets the frame flimsy ,all my prints are rock solid .
If you are using ABS it can be such problem, but with PLA it will break before it twists.

Thanks for the reply, PLA at that thickness will flex I guess, I printed another chassis at 100% infill and it was much the same (will still be usable with some bracing), been printing more parts this evening, all fine apart from the roof which I spotted fairly early on was not going to end well so aborted that, also the handrails collapsed, but I am still on a learning curve and its me and not the design. I will probably add some cross members to the chassis or get the IP one (although I am not a great fan of IP running gear). As for the roof and handrails I will scratch build those in plastic sheet and brass rod the way I always have. I might consider doing a 7/8ths print as well when I have worked out what scale settings to put in Cura, thanks again

Thanks for your feedback.
Give me a day or two to construct an updated version . When im ready i will give you a copy of that version to test print. When we are happy with the result i will publish the updated version.

That is very good of you thanks.

Hi. Try this version , i haven't printed it yet but it should be a lot more sturdy.
this version is made for 6mm ball bearings /bushings.
Pleace give me some feedback when you have printed it.

Thanks, that looks good, I will give that a go, have printed the original chassis at 7/8ths scale and that's more rigid.

I printed the enhanced chassis file and Its much stronger it would make a great universal chassis design for a variety of wheelbases . I have scaled up the chassis parts to 7/8ths scale and I am very pleased with the results so far. Even though the original design was more rigid on the 7/8ths print I will try the enhanced one at the larger scale. Anyone considering a 7/8ths version of this design will need to split the parts on some files as they may not fit the bed otherwise. I used a 1.39 scale factor in Cura. Once again thanks for this design, anything else in the pipeline?

Thanks for your feedback, i will change the chassie on my loco to the updated one.
And yes i will release some more stuff soon, first some extra parts to my wagon series and then one more wagon version , after that are a new bigger loco in the pipeline ,which are more in the right size for my wagons.

Just an update, I have now managed to print all the parts successfully, the roof and grills that needed supports failed because of my inexperience, basically I had the wrong "expert" settings in Cura for supports and once changed to "grid" from "lines" it worked brilliantly, thanks again for this, hope you have time to do a few more designs, will probably have a go at some points next

Im happy to hear you manage to get a good print, and more designs will come soon.

I print on a delta printer and the parts are too big for the bed (its 180mm diameter)

Would it be possible to have seperate stl files for each part?

Sorry but it’s way to much job for me to split all files and check them after , it’s much better that you learn to split STL files for your own.
It’s a little time consuming but very easy to do. Search for ”split STL ” on youtube and you get a lot off tutorials on how to do that.

Nice model and the tracks make it a compleet pakket. Thanks die sharing hoor projects

very nice model i will defiantly be printing this when i next get some free time

Thanks, glad to hear you liked it.

did you do any thing before you painted it

Light sanding and after that i spray painted it with waterbased paint. You can spray it with some thick primer first if you want a smother surface.

very nice indeed

Thanks! ,
HO is 22% of 16mm Scale (1:19) so i think the wall thickness is going to be to thin for printing, maybe if you don't use uniform scaling you can make it printable, But it is going to be a very small Loco in HO (around 3cm in length).

thanks for reply , yes it will be the small beautiful loco
looking to see more
